Jim Chapman, founder and CEO of Vinings-based Jim Chapman Communities, has been installed as 2018 president of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA).
He has also been named as the GAHBA’s Spike Member of the Year for his outstanding work recruiting and retaining new builder and associate members at the local level and within the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Federation.
Chapman, a long-time champion of the U.S. home building industry, is currently serving as the 2018 vice-chair of the NAHB Land Development Committee and is the founding chairman of the ALL Home Program, a voluntary statewide certification created by the Home Builders Association of Georgia to promote accessibility and universal design.
An Atlanta native, Chapman founded Jim Chapman Communities in 1998, specifically to serve the active 55-plus market. Now recognized as metro Atlanta’s premier 55-plus homebuilder, Jim Chapman Communities has a number of active adult communities under development throughout the Atlanta area, including Cobb, Forsyth, north Fulton, Hall, Dawson and Cherokee counties.
In addition to his work in Atlanta and Georgia, Chapman recently served as the chair of NAHB’s 55-plus Housing Industry Council and was just named the 2018 55-plus Builder of the Year by the NAHB.
